Funeral services for Mr. Edison Chapo Sr., 62, will be at 10 a.m., May 13, 2014 at the Navajo Christian Church, Borrego Pass, NM. Mark Thomas will officiate. Burial will be on a family plot in Casamero Lake.

Chapo died May 5, 2014 in Grants, NM. He was born on January 1, 1952 in Casamero Lake, NM, born into Tangle People clan for the Towering House People clan.

Chapo went to school in Salt Lake City and finished the 8th grade. He was a fun, humorous father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend. He was a man who was a jack of all trades; silversmith, carpenter, bull rider, mechanic. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include his partner Lorraine Boyd, former wife Mary Lou Wagner. Daughters; Ida Mae Chapo, Sharon Lynn Chapo. Brothers; Joe B. Chavez and Phillip Chapo. Sisters; Bessie Jake. 7 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son; Edison Chapo Jr., Parents; Ada Chavez Chapo and Willie Jim Chapo. Sisters; Alice Platero, Betty Chapo, Edith Chapo.

Pallbearers include; Wendell Jake, Derrick Jim, Lerrime Bodie, Joe Chavez Jr., Everrett Jim, Jimmie Platero Jr. Honorary pallbearers; Howard Jim Jr., Chee Sanders Jr., Bryon John, Bobby Chavez, Joe Chavez Sr., and Henry Chavez.

Cope Memorial Chapel of Gallup, NM is entrusted with arrangements.
