Douglas Wayne Harmon

Douglas Wayne Harmon, 72, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2015. He was born January 31, 1943, in Hobbs to Delbert Calloway and Allae Mae Harmon.
The Harmon family moved to Farmington in 1957. Douglas started driving trucks at a young age and made a life of driving and working on trucks and helping train others to be mechanics and truck drivers.
He liked to hunt and fish and was always working on some projects around the house or in his shop. He was always willing to tell a story and talk to anyone, and this turned into his hobby of ham radio (K5WY).
He is preceded on death by his parents; wife Dixie Lee Duggins Harmon; son Rick Gilmer; and brother, J.D. Harmon.
He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Donna Harmon, of Aztec; son, Bill Harmon and his wife, Marianne, of Farmington; and grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family.
Cremation will take place and a graveside commital service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 23, at Greenlawn Cemetery, 1606 N. Dustin Avenue, in Farmington, with Pastor Bror Erickson officiating.
