Dollie Eleanor Aycock

Dollie Eleanor Aycock, 98 of Farmington, passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2014. She was born September 16, 1915 in Bartlett, Texas to Andrew Jackson and Laura Mae Fields Pace. She was raised on a farm in "the Oklahoma Flats" near Littlefield, Texas. Dollie was next to the oldest of 10 children. Her mother and a sister died when she was 16. She and her younger sister, Billie took over all the duties of running the farm house and taking care of 7 boys, one only 3 months old. She spent her schooldays in Whitharrel, Texas. She married Willis "Bill" Aycock in 1939. They lived in Texas, California, then Farmington where they owned and operated Farmington Frame and Wheel. She worked for JC Penney and then Safeway, where she retired. She was very involved in the Rebekah Lodge during her younger years. She enjoyed gardening and preserving all her vegetables. She was an original member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. They had one son, Darrell Aycock. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; her parents; sister, Irene; brothers, Roy, Dale, Wayne, Ray, Leo and Jack. She is survived by her son, Darrell; granddaughter, Shanna Aycock of Midland, Texas; great grandson, Jessie Earwood of Tennessee; great granddaughter, Samantha Hodges of Farmington; sister, Billie Gattis of Farmington; and brother, Hulon of Portland, Tenn. She is also survived by 23 nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Jessie Earwood, Jerry Gattis, Rodney Pace, Randall Pace, Nathan Pace and Adam Pace. She enjoyed a long, full life, just 5 days short of her 99th birthday. Now she is at peace with the Lord and all her loved ones in eternity. Viewing will be from 5-7 pm on Wednesday, September 17th at Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home, 103 E. Ute St. Her service will be at 10:00 am, Thursday, September 18th, also at Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home, with Pastor John Preston officiating. Interment services will immediately follow at Memory Gardens. Arrangements by Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home, 103 E. Ute St., in Farmington (505) 325-8688.
