Dixie Lou Scott passed away Saturday, July 25, 2015, at the Beehive nursing home. She was born on Sept.4, 1928, in St. Joseph, Mo., to Benton Leroy and Nannie Gertrude (Engelman) Simpson.
On Jan. 18, 1948, she married the love of her life, Keith Eugene "Skeeter" Scott. They raised their two sons, Steve and Greg in Towner, Colo. In 1997, she and Skeeter moved to Bloomfield.
Dixie was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Harry Renfrow; brother, Bill; half-sister, Julia Suzanne; and her soul mate, Skeeter.
She leaves to mourn her passing: her sons, Steve (Kay) of Bloomfield and Greg of Thorton, Colo.; three grandchildren, Amy (Aaron) Gerdes, Clinton (Linda) Scott both from Dodge City, Kan., and Clifton Scott of Thorton; four great-grandchildren; six nieces; one nephew; stepsister Shirley Sisneros; and a wealth of many friends.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, at Peacock Funeral Home in Lamar, Colo.
