June 27, 1965-May 14, 2013
Dawnitta Lynn Taft, 47, of farmington passed on May 14, at her home in Farmington under the care of Hospice. She has joined her heavenly Father after a 6 month battle with cancer. Dawnitta is survived by both of her parents, Rex and Linda Davis of Farmington, her sister, Joella Thomas of Los Angeles, California, her brother, Frank Taft of Las Vegas, Nevada and her two sons, Jareb Parker and Justin Parker of Dallas, Texas. Dawnitta was born in Albuquerque June 27, 1965 where she attended her years of school. She graduated from farmington High School in 1983. Shortly thereafter, she married Dean Parker of Farmington later giving birth to her two sons. While raising Jareb and Justin, she relocated with her family to work with Kenneth-Copeland Ministries for ten years. Later she returned to Farmington to begin the Faith Harbor Fellowship Church. Her faith unwavering, she began to seek a new home, finding it with Vectra Bank. Dawnitta joined Vectra Bank in Farmington in 2005. As a professional, Dawnitta had a distinguished career as a Business Banker. Her passion was customer relationships cultivating personal and professional friendships with so many. She earned countless awards from Vectra Bank for superior customer relationships and outstanding production. She remained a top banker for Zions Bancorporation throughout her career. Dawnitta's love for life centered around her family and her friends. Her enthusiasm for each day was composed of her love for Jareb and Justin, her mother Linda, and her sister, Joella and brother, Frank. Her deep friendships gave Dawnitta such pleasure every day. Those who knew Dawnitta were privileged and energized by her humor, her infectious smile, her engaging love for people, and her genuine concern for everyone she knew. She was selfless and generous and cared deeply for her friends, coworkers and customers. Dawnitta was many, many people's best friend. Just a few short weeks ago, Dawnitta attended the Mayor's Ball in Farmington with her sister and mother and many friends. She, as she always did, lit up the room and danced the night away. She loved being with her friends and family and indeed made the night special for so many. Dawnitta's time here was too short. She had such a loving and positive embrace on all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was a beacon of love, energy, and inspiration and shared it with all. We have lost a dear friend and truly a very special lady. Though gone in body, she is not forgotten. She is and will always be the warm light at the start of every day. A memorial celebration of Dawnitta's life will be 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, at the Word of Life Christian Center, 1500 Fairview Ave. in Farmington. In lieu of flowers, a donation account has been established at Vectra Bank with donations going to the Holland House Women's Shelter. Dawnitta's care is entrusted to Alternative Choice, 804 N.
