David "Davey" Duane Phillips
David "Davey" Duane Phillips, 30, of Kirtland, passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2013 in Kirtland. He was born October 25, 1982, in Farmington, to David and Julie Phillips. Davey graduated from Farmington High School in 2001. He was employed by CH2MHILL OMI as a Craft Person 1 and loved his job and his work family very much. Davey was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to fish and hunt with his best friend, his dad. His passion was racing. Davey began working on motors and racing anything he could get his hands on at a very young age. He was an excellent mechanic and an awesome competitor on the track. He loved his racing family as well. Davey was an honest and very hard working man. He was always a go getter and got the job done no matter what it was. He loved his two beautiful daughters and wife more than anything in the world. He was a devoted husband and father. He loved all of his family very much. He was always there to put a smile on everyone's face. He was mommy's little pumpkin and dad's little buddy no matter how old he was. Davey had the purest heart of gold and was most genuine man you would ever know. He had a smile that captured your eye and a laugh that captured your heart. He never knew a stranger and was there to lend a hand whenever needed. He was loved and adored by all who knew him and will be missed more than words could ever express. Davey was preceded in death by grandfathers, Norvin Schell, Pete Pike, Andy Bond and Dave Ludwick. He is survived by his wife, Debra Phillips; daughters, Patricia Phillips and Annalicia Phillips; parents; father and mother-in-laws, Raymond and Lorraine Barella; sister, Jammie Shim and family; brothers and sister-in-laws, Ray Barela and family, Mary Barela and family, Priscilla Dubois and family, Raymie Barela and family, April Barela and family, David Barela and family, Albino Barela and family and Senovia Barela and family; grandparents, Phyllis Schell, Pat and Lorraine Phillips and Elli Heller. Viewing will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 18, at Alternative Choice Chapel in Farmington. A service will be 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 19, at the First Baptist Church of Bloomfield, 200 W. Sycamore Ave. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens, 6917 E. Main St. in Farmington. A potluck reception will follow in McGee Park in Farmington. Davey's care is entrusted to Alternative Choice, 804 N. Dustin Ave. in Farmington, 505-325-9611.
