Funeral services for Curtis Bowie, 35, will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 3, 2017, at Cope Memorial Chapel in Gallup. Private disposition will be in Rocky Point.

Bowie died February 24, 2017, in Phoenix, AZ. He was born December 7, 1981, in Gallup, into the Meadow People Clan born for the Meadow People Clan.

Bowie graduated from Gallup High School in 1999 and worked at Lowe's Grocery Store and Walmart. He loved to play guitar, be with family, listen to heavy metal music and have cookouts. Bowie was an artist and San Francisco 49ers fan.

Survivors include his son Noah Bowie, of Crestview; father Charlie Chee Bowie Jr., of Rocky Point; mother Helena Jim, of Red Rock; guardians Deloris Silvers and Gerldine Bowie, of Rocky Point; brothers Gregory Bowie, Casey Bowie, Virgil Gonnie Jr. and Cameron Shay, of Red Rock; and sisters Shannon M. Jim and Diandra Shay, both of Red Rock, Chasity Bowie, of Tseyatoh, and Heather Bowie and Charleen Bowie, both of Albuquerque. He was preceded in death by Freddie Jim, Helen Spencer Jim, Mary Bowie Yazzie, Sarah Gray and Charlie Bowie Sr.

Pallbearers will be Josh Teller, Nathan Dalgai, Timothy Gray, Wally Gray, Jeremy Skeets and Shawn Silago.

Cope Memorial Chapel of Gallup, NM is entrusted with arrangements.
