Clyde Rudolph "C.R." Thompson, 88, of Farmington passed away early Saturday, Nov. 21, 2015, at his home. C.R. was born Sept. 2, 1927 in Canadian, Okla., Clyde Rudolph Thompson, Sr. and Bonnie Miranda (Starks) Thompson.
After graduating high school in Atoka, OK in 1946 he enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served 2 years in Occupied Japan. Upon his return he attended Oklahoma University in Norman, Oklahoma, and graduated with his business degree. After graduation he went to work for Atlantic Refining Co.(ARCO Oil and Gas) in Great Bend, Kansas, where he met his wife of 62 years Avis Jean Davis.
C.R. was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Jean; son, Ronald Gene Thompson (Gaye); and daughter Tricia Lynn Thomas (Jim, deceased); grandchildren, Sean Thompson (Denise), Stacie Sila (Jeremy), Jessica Cadrain (RJ), and Jennifer Rowland (Jimmy, deceased). He is also survived by 5 great grandchildren; Kaitlyn, Analise, Mackenzie, Brookelynn and Kason.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 25, at Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home, 103 East Ute Street, Farmington, with Danny Webb officiating. Pallbearers are Ronnie Thompson, Sean Thompson, Jeremy Sila, Jimmy Rowland, Mike Fox and Danny Webb. Interment will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 6917 East Main Street.
