Clifford Otis Vaughn

Clifford O. Vaughn, 95, of Aztec, NM passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family. Clifford was born August 17, 1917 in Mt. Mariah, Missouri the son of Otis Charles Vaughn and Edna Bane Vaughn. Clifford was raised during the depression and worked on a farm as a young man. After serving in the Army-Air Corp during the WWII he worked mostly in the lumber industry. Clifford was a deeply committed follower of Christ and a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Aztec for 33 years. Clifford made an impact on many lives. Clifford was preceded in death by his parents, Otis and Edna Vaughn, his wife Ruth Vaughn, and a sister Coy Leyerly. He leaves behind is wife Margaret Johns; sons Dennis Vaughn and wife Pam and James Vaughn and wife Connie, 10 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren and many dear friends. Graveside services will be held today, Saturday, July 6, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 6917 E. Main St., in Farmington with Pastor Bob Schlauger officiating. Full military honors will be provided by VFW Post #2182 of Farmington. Pallbearers are his grandsons Bobby Vaughn, Danny Vaughn, Tony Vaughn, Andy Vaughn, Josh Vaughn, Mark Williams, and Tim Jones. Honorary pallbearers are David Vaughn and Roger Russell. Memorial services for Clifford will follow today, Saturday, July 6, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Bethel Baptist Church, 201 Heiland Road in Aztec with Pastor Bob Schlauger officiating. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to all relatives and friends who were so kind and supportive during this time. Your kindness will always be remembered.
