Claudine Riddle

April 22, 1920 — May 31, 2015

Claudine Maxwell Riddle age 95 of Farmington passed away Sunday, May 31, 2015. She was born April 22, 1920 in Coryell County Texas to James Maxwell and Jessie Dossey. Claudine was born into a Texas sharecropper's family. By working hard her whole life she would become a successful realtor and political activist in the state of New Mexico.

Claudine had two children, Dick Riddle and Linda Riddle, four grandchildren 13 great-grandchildren and 18 great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband John Riddle, her brother Basil Maxwell, her sister Hazel Maxwell, her daughter Linda Riddle and her great grandson Bobby Riddle. Claudine will be remembered by the community for her advocacy work among the Navajo people. Her family and friends will cherish the memories she left behind of her no nonsense attitude and fiery temperament that allowed her to accomplish her goals no matter how long the odds.

A viewing will be held Friday June 5th from 6 to 8 pm at Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home, 103 E. Ute St. in Farmington. Services for Claudine will be Saturday, June 6th at 10:00 am at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 211 W. 20th St., in Farmington with Pastor Steve Ballew officiating. A private interment will be held at Greenlawn Cemetery in Farmington.

Claudine's care is entrusted to Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home, 505-325-8688.
