CLARENCE (WID) RICKS WIDDISON, 85, of Farmington passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at San Juan Regional Medical Center in Farmington. Wid was born April 1, 1931 in Rexburg, Idaho the son of William Irvin Widdison and Reba (Ricks) Widdison. Wid graduated from Madison High, Rexburg, ID in 1949. He married high school sweetheart Sharon Bybee (deceased) in 1949 and later divorced. To that union was born Marilyn Kae Hunt (Sonny), Gary Ervin (Dana) Widdison, Kevin Clarence Widdison (Debbie), and Alane Ball, Terry (deceased). Later he married Kay Chapman on July 1, 1993 in Elko, Nevada and it was later solemnized in the Albuquerque (LDS) Temple. Wid excelled in sports as a young man. He was an active high priest in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Farmington 4th Ward. Wid worked as a heavy equipment operator and logger. Later in life he drove a school bus for Farmington School District for many years and was well-known and loved by many students. Wid always grew a huge garden and was known for his generosity and willingness to help any who needed it. He will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Glen Widdison, brothers-in-law Donald Bailey, and Carl Simmers; sisters Lorene Widdison Larsen and his grandparents Orson and Margaret Ricks.
Wid leaves behind his wife Kay Widdison; sons Gary E. Widdison (Dana), Kevin C. Widdison (Debbie), stepsons Fred Rector (Misty) John Rector (Kathy), Darren Rector (Mary Kay), Norman Rector (Carissa) and Steve Greg; daughters Marilyn K. Hunt (Sonny), Alane Ball and Terry (deceased); brothers Warren Widdison (Joan), Donald Widdison (Renella) and Lynn Widdison (Lola), sisters Lucille Simmers and Mildred Bailey; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, many friends, students, teachers and colleagues.
Viewing for Wid will at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 18th at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Apache Building, 400 W. Apache in Farmington. Funeral services will follow at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 18th at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with Bishop Kirby Mortensen conducting. Interment will be Friday, May 20th at the Fielding Cemetery in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
Pallbearers are Wid's grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
