Christopher Gonzales, 77, of Farmington, passed away peacefully Monday, Nov. 14, 2016, in Farmington. He was born Sept. 27, 1939, to Jesus Maria Gonzales and Matilde Gonzales in Las Vegas, N.M.
Chris was in the National Guard for three years in Las Vegas, N.M. and as soon as he finished high school he entered the Air Force for four years. He was a life member of the VFW and later joined the Plumber and Pipefitters Local 412. His job took him to several places and he always took his family with him.
Chris was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Richard. Chris leaves behind his loving wife Gloria of 50 years; son, Richard (Lucy); daughter, Debbie (Mike) and Cindy; sisters, Maria Isabel Adams and Frances Gallegos; grandchildren, Richard Jr., Nicole and Lily Sena; great grandchild, Melanie Jade; nephew, John Adams and family; nieces, Anita and Christina and their spouses; and his little dachshund, Jack.
A rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 17 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 414 N. Allen Ave. in Farmington. A funeral Mass will follow at 10 a.m. with Father Tim Farrell as Celebrant. A reception will follow after the Mass at the Sacred Heart Family Center. Interment will be at 12:30 p.m. following the reception, at Memory Gardens, 6917 E. Main St. in Farmington.
The family would like to thank Nurses Anna and Trish and the all the staff at Cedar Ridge Inn for all the help and care they provided.
