Charlien "Charlie" Bamfield
Charlien Elliott "Penner" Bamfield joined our heavenly father on April 14th, 2017 in Aztec, NM. Charlien was born in Newton Kansas on December 27, 1937 to Roland John Penner and Charlien Irene "Hazen". She married her lifelong love, Wilbur Elliott Bamfield on September 11, 1953. They were married almost 57 years until his death in 2010. They had 3 children, William E. Bamfield of Farmington, Mary E "Bamfield" Bain (deceased) and JD Bamfield, They provided her with 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
After leaving Kansas in 1967 they lived in Colorado until work brought them to the 4 Corners area in 1975, where they lived the remainder of their lives. A loving and caring woman, she was always ready and willing to help others. She loved her church and the children she helped in boy scouts and at her crosswalk where she worked for more than 10 years. She also loved to travel and visit her friends and family. One of her favorite pastimes was playing cards or other games with others. She is preceded in death by her husband Wilbur, her daughter Mary Bain and her grandson Benjamin. She is survived by her sons William and JD, also by a brother, Cyril D Penner, and five half siblings, Michael R Stultz, Michelle M Kimball, Tammy K Youngfield, Renee I Clark, and Ricky L Stultz. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on May 13th, at 11AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 400 W Apache in Farmington with Bishop Kirby Mortensen conducting. Interment will be in McPherson, Kansas at a later date.
