Charlie Garland Wilkinson, 94, of Farmington, passed away Sunday,March 9, 2014. He was born in Scottsboro, Ala., to William and Mary Wilkinson.He met Alma Veretto in Lubbock, Texas, and remained married for many years. He later met and married Beulah Noel in 1960. He worked for Meads Potato Chip Company in Lubbock for twenty years before working for A-1 Mobile Homes in Gallup. He eventually moved to Farmington to be closer to his son and grandchildren. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, fishing at the lake, and watching western movies. Charlie was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Charlie is survived by his sister Maggie Hooks of Texas; son, Garland "Kent" Wilkinson and wife Rose of Farmington; daughter, Wilma Hawley and husband Jimmy of Lubbock, Texas; many grandchildren including, Kristy Wilkinson and Michael Wilkinson (Natalie), many great-grandchildren including Kason Wilkinson, Jesse Reynolds, Anastasia, Aliyah, Carter and Raymond Wilkinson, all of Farmington.He was preceded in death by his parents; four siblings; his wife Beulah, his sons, Charles and Roy Wilkinson; and his granddaughter Cissy Germany (Wilkinson)Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 15, in Lubbock. Charlie's care was entrusted to Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home,103 E. Ute St. in Farmington, 505-325-8688.
