Cecilia (Ewoniuk) Miller

Cecilia Miller was born July 1, 1933 in Gorham, North Dakota  to Steven and Mary Ewoniuk.  She was the youngest of fourteen children.

Cecilia grew up on the family farm and attended the country school with other neighboring families.  She often would tell stories of having to walk miles in the deep snow to get to the schoolhouse.  If she got there early, she would build the fire in the wood stove.  In her early teens, the family moved into town, Belfield, ND where her father owned the Red Owl Grocery Store.

In 1952 she was working in the store, when one day a man by the name of Oscar Miller came in.  His friends had tried to fix him up with her niece, but he had other ideas.  After a short courtship, they were married in November.   Together they had five children together, Myron, Pam, Tim, David & Cathy.  Because Oscar worked in the oilfield, they moved often early in their marriage.  The first three children were born in three different states.  When they arrived in 1957, Cecilia had enough of moving around and the decision was made to make Farmington their home.

Cecilia was a homemaker and her life centered around her home, family and her church. She was a wonderful cook and baker, often leading her children to fight over the last of the baked goods.  Holidays were always important to her to bring the family together and she made each and every one special with her cooking.  Her poppy seed rolls and homemade german chocolate cake will be missed.

Cecilia is preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, her beloved husband Oscar, and two sons Myron and David Miller.

Cecilia is survived by her son Tim Miller (Sue), daughters Pam Killion (Mike), and Cathy Tucker (Wes), daughter-in-law Carol Miller, 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Rosary will be held Tuesday November 30, 2021 at 9:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Funeral Mass to follow at 10:00 am.  Interment will be at Memory Gardens Cemetary following Mass.
