Carl Ivan Price, 69 of Farmington, passed away on Thursday, January 29, 2015. He was born on August 17, 1945, to James Glyndior Price and Dorothy Grace (Ricketts) Price at Fairfield's Cottage in Hartbury, Gloucester, England.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents and brother Barry Price.
He is survived by his daughters Julie (Mike) Petrie and Joann Price; grandchildren Carlee Hooper, Jasmine Price, Ryan Petrie and Drew Petrie; great grandchildren Jade Price Boyce, Juliette Stahle, and Scarlett Livingston; sisters Valerie (Donald) Roquemore, of Farmington and Mary Roquemore of Gahanna, Ohio; and brothers Alquyn (Brenda) Price and Nigel (Janet) Price of Gloucester, England.
Carl emigrated from England with his parents in 1962. Carl married Virginia Samora and became a beloved member of her large loving family.
Carl worked at Creamland Dairies in Farmington before moving his family to Denver to further his education. While working full time at Royal Crest Dairies in Denver, he attended the National Electronics Institute for Refrigeration Servicing. After graduating in 1971, Carl moved his family back to Farmington and accepted a position with David Gaylor at Four Corners Service Company. From there he worked his way up to Service Manager, eventually obtaining his own contractor's license and purchased the company along with his co-worker and lifelong friend James Kennedy.
Although Carl always remained a British citizen, he loved his adopted country and its opportunities. Carl always made a stranger his friend with humor and a good joke.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, February 4th at Brewer Lee and Larkin Funeral Home, 103 E. Ute St., in Farmington. Dinner will follow at the Farmington Civic Center.
Honorary pallbearers are Mike Petrie, Ryan Petrie, Drew Petrie, James Kennedy, Wade Kennedy, Mike Brown, Bobby Gallegos and Gene Samora.
Special gratitude to Dr. Imam, Dr. Kazmi, Dr. Kahn, and the great staff at San Juan Oncology; Dr. Lopez at Advanced Gastro Associates; and Dr. Crider for many years as his primary physician. God bless all the wonderful nurses and care providers at SJRMC. Thanks also to his golfing buddy and good friend Mike Brown.
