Carl E. Elmer,86, a United States Navy Veteran , of Farmington, NM passed away on September 24, 2019 at Mercy Hospital in Durango, Colorado. He was born on April 24, 1933 in Syracuse, NY to Claude E. and Rose K. Elmer. Carl served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He also was a member for the Elks Lodge 1747 and worked for the Department of Indian Affairs for 31 years. carl was an avid fan of Farmington High School sports and Notre Dame Football. He enjoyed fishing and spending time at the family cabin at Vallecito Reservoir in Colorado most of all.
Carl is preceeded in death by his parents; Calude E. and Rose K. Elmer, brothers; Lee N. Elmer and Lyle C. Elmer, sister; Thelma R (Elmer) Wilcox and grand parents; John and Clara Elmer and William and Lillian King.
Carl is survived by his loving wife; Virginia B. Elmer, sons; Scott (Mary) Elmer, Claude K. Elmer, daughter; Dawn E. Elmer, Grand Children; Christopher S.( Crystal) Elmer, Jeramie Davis, Sha L. Elmer, Christopher (Tabitha) Doyle and Dallahno J. Elmer. Great Grandchildren; Angelina Elmer, Sean Elmer, Jaden Davis, Gabriel Davis, Payzley Doyle, Copelynd Doyle and Avery Elmer.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM, Sunday, October 20, 219 at the Vallecito Community Event Center. Memorial donations may be made in Carl's name to the Carl Elmer Memorial Fund Farmington High School Sports Program.
Carl was very loved my many and will be deeply missed by all.
