Calene Anderson, 73, of Farmington passed away Thursday, December 20, 2012 in Farmington. She was born October 7, 1939 in Durango, Colorado. She grew up on a beautiful farm in Ignacio, Colorado where she attended school. After graduation, she moved to Aztec where she was employed by Mountain Bell. She met and married James Anderson in May 1959. She graduated with her degree from Fort Lewis College and began teaching in Gallup. The family returned to Farmington in 1977 where she taught 4th grade at Bluffview Elementary. She cherished her coworkers as well as her students. Calene enjoyed reading, gardening and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. A special treat would be a trip to Vegas at least once a year for the last 30 years. She is survived by her husband, James Anderson, daughters Starla Thompson (Joe), Darla Johnson (Roy), grandchildren, Falynn Burns, Amanda Bradshaw (Rob), Brittany Burns and Chad Burns. Also surviving are great grandchildren Easton Gibbs and Scarlett Burns, brother Paul Shelhamer and family of Lubbock, Texas and her Aunt Eileen Graziano and family from Pocatello, Idaho. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made in memory of Calene to a cancer charity of your choice. Calene is entrusted to Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home, 103 E.
