Bruce Wayne Compton was born March 28, 1949 to Fred Raymond Compton, Sr. and Vera Mae Williams in Tulare, California. Bruce entered the US Army in 1967 doing two tours in Vietnam as a "Point Man", with his German Shepherd at his side. Bruce was a talented man who could play the piano, organ, and guitar by ear. He was a friend to all and would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He worked as a Master Plumber owning his own business, and teaching his children the trade. Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and one sister. He was a devoted husband to Bonnie Gaye Kennedy Compton, a loving father to daughter Brenda (Mark) Neilson, and sons Darren (Brenda), Shannon (Natalee), Chris Compton, stepson Boyd Kennedy, and his sister Anna Berton. He loved all of his 13 grandchildren; as well as his special pets Scamp, Coco, Babydoll, Puda, Birdie, and Pepe`. Services for Bruce will be held Tuesday, December 3, 2013, at 11:00 a.m., at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 400 W. Apache, with Bishop Carroll Carter conducting, burial following at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
