Bruce Lee Canfield passed away on August 3, 2020 in Grants, New Mexico. He was born on January 6, 1962 in Spokane Washington to Floyd and Verna Canfield.
A private service was held for the family.
Bruce was a mechanic by trade, but was involved in the community in many aspects. He coached little league for several years and thoroughly enjoyed the racing world. Bruce had a gruff demeanor, but was a great big, soft teddy bear underneath. If he loved you, he would go to the ends of the earth to look out for you, as was proven when he took in numerous kids who needed a place to stay, a meal, guidance, or a stern talking-to. He was the best "bonus" dad to so many.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his mother-in-law, Pauline Chavez, his brother-in-law, Zeke (Bernie, Jr.) Bustos, and his niece, Mandy Bustos Martinez.
Bruce is survived by his lifetime best friend, Valerie Chavez, his daughter, Anjelique Chavez (Dallas Fleming), his son, Brandon Canfield (Raquel Gabaldon), his granddaughter, Kylie Fleming, and in October 2020 his newest granddaughter, Reylee Ann Fleming. He is also survived by his brothers, Larry and Vern, his sisters, Sharon, Paula, Gail and Linda, all of Washington State, his sister-in-law, Cindi Stevick (Chris) of Arizona and Jeanenne Bustos of Grants, NM along with many nieces and nephews who adored their "Funcle" (fun uncle).
A huge thank you goes out to Bruce's many dear and close friends, who he treasured. A special shout out goes to Mike Trujillo - thanks for always looking out for Bruce!!!
With the turn of a wrench, Bruce kept those he loved and cared about rolling down the road of life...
