Brian Scott Bray, 23, of Aztec, passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2014, in Odessa, Texas. He was born May 23, 1990, in Shawnee Mission, Kan., to Glenn and Tabatha Bray and Mary Tierney.
Brian spent his childhood between Overland Park, Kan., and Durango, Colo. He moved to Aztec with his family in 2007. He worked for Flint Energy in the Durango and Farmington areas for several years. He traveled to Williston, N.D., to work in the oilfield and then followed the work to Texas. Brian was working for URS Flint as an equipment operator in Odessa, Texas, at the time of his death. He enjoyed being a pipe liner, traveling from place to place and meeting new friends and co-workers. He also enjoyed spending time shooting shotguns, anything pertaining to diesel pickups and spending time on the beaches of Texas with his beloved blue heeler, Tessie.
Brian was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles and Marguerite Tierney.
He is survived by his parents; brothers, Troy Martinez, John Bray, Travis Bray and Joseph Lopez; sisters, Colleen Bray and Hunter Bray; and grandparents, Delores and Kenneth Herdman and Joe and Lucille Martinez.
A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. on Monday, April 7, at Animas Valley Community Church, 500 Sabena St. in Aztec, officiated by Pastor Fritz Polk.
The inurnment will follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery, in Cedar Hill.
A reception will follow at the church.
