Billy Vaughn Taylor, 42 of Farmington passed away on Friday, November 20, 2015. He was born on May 31, 1973, in Carlsbad, NM. He was born to Owen Dennis and Beverly Taylor. He was born for Chuck and Gina Scheffing and Pete and Francis Gotsis.
Billy, a true friend, trusted partner, life enthusiast and family man, lived life to the fullest all the way through and will serve as an inspiration to the lucky friends who became his family. Billy was free-spirited and excited, spontaneous, yet determined. He loved to find life and adventure in the wilderness and at the cabin. He always had time to take in the sunset or make a friend smile. Billy worked hard for everything, but especially to get where he wanted to be in life. He was an adrenaline junky. From motorcycles to cell tower climbing, if it got him pumped up, he wanted to do it; even 300 feet up where he could see the curvature of the earth. He appreciated "getting paid to get high" but would have gotten higher if he could. Billy had a unique mind that saw life for what it could be. He had a knack for graceful anarchism and would march through the trenches for those he loved. A genuine gentleman, Billy will be missed for his companionship, his brilliance and his abundant love of life.
Billy was preceded in death by his grandparents Owen and Hazel Vaughn Taylor and uncle Pete Gotsis.
He leaves behind his significant other Angela Hutchins and family; aunt Francis Gotsis; close friends Bobby Chapman, Caleb Scheffing and Matlock Stanley.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 pm on Saturday, December 5, 2015, at Rock Cross Church, 1300 N. Dustin Ave., in Farmington.
Billy's care is entrusted to the Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home, 103 E. Ute St. in Farmington, 505-325-8688.
