Bessie Mary Denetclaw

Bessie Mary Denetclaw passed away peacefully on Sun, Oct 16th at the age of 88 in Farmington, NM.

She was born December 31, 1933 in Red Mesa, AZ to Harry and Julia Dee.  Her clans - Redhouse born for Folded Arm.  Maternal grandfather - Salt clan and Paternal grandfather - Bitterwater clan.

She married Peter Denetclaw on March 25, 1958.

She enjoyed gardening, cooking and of course running.  She had dreamt of running the Boston Marathon which she accomplished.  She was also a die-hard Raiders fan and was able to watch a game in Oakland.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Peter and Woody and her husband of 53 years.  She is survived by her children – Peter (Vicki), Deborah (Leonard), Angie (Carl) and Brinskie (Linda).  Four grandsons, 4 great-grandchildren, sisters, a brother and numerous nieces and nephews.

Our mom will be deeply missed.  Services will be held October 21, 2022 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 2100 E. 20th St., Farmington, NM at 10:30 am.  Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
