Obituary-Minter
Ben Junior Minter, age 69. He was born on April 8, 1944 in Toccoa, Georgia. He passed away on December 16, 2013 surrounded by his loving family.
He was a Barium miner in Arkansas, He moved to the Grants/Milan area in 1976, to work in the Uranium mines including Ranchers and Chevron mines. He also worked for Anderson Trucking hauling Uranium. For the past 20 years, he has worked as Property Maintenance Director for 6D properties.
Ben will best be remembered as a loving Husband, Dad and Granddad, who enjoyed spending time with his family, watching his beloved Dallas Cowboy football games, hosting summer cook outs, and their sports shooting outings.
He is survived by his wife Frances Minter of the family home in Milan. His children; Ben Alan Minter of Grants, Chris Edward Minter and his wife Alexandra of Milan, Cathy Lorraine Minter of Ashboro, NC., and Kevin Lynn Minter and his wife Gloria of Milan. His 10 grandchildren (and 1 on the way) Michael, Benjamin Jose, Benjamin Franklin, Talia Frances, Jeremy, Cameron, Darien, Nicole, Eileen, and Manuel. He also has 2 great-grandchildren on the way. His siblings; Bernice Smith of Toccoa, and Bennie Sue Brennan of Atlanta, GA., also survive him.
He was preceded in death by one daughter; Marie Minter. His parents; Ben Hill Minter and Myrtle Crowe Minter. His siblings; Grady Minter, Irene Finley, and Curtis Minter.
Honorary Pallbearers include; James Jordan, David Jordan, Johnny Jordan, Louis Jordan, Danny Jordan, Robert Jordan, and Ray Jordan.
A private family memorial will take place.
