Barbara Jean Heavener (Weatherford)

Barbara Jean (Weatherford) Heavener, 88, of Bloomfield, passed away on Monday, April, 11, 2016, in Farmington. She was born on Jan. 27, 1928, to Paul and Lena Heavener in Yale, Okla.
Barbara graduated from Wewoka, Okla. She married Jack Weatherford, and they moved to California, where Jack went to Porterville Junior College and they had their first two girls, Judy and Jacque. The family moved to Texas, and Jack worked in the oilfield, and their last daughter, Jeannie was born. The family moved around in the oilfield and settled in Farmington where her son, Jack Jr., was born.
Barbara raised her children in the church with tons of love for the Lord. She was known for her biscuits and gravy and cream pies. She worked as a church secretary and PBX operator, but her main goal was her love for the Lord and her children. Barbara's fondest memories were of her family and grandkids being together with her.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Jack W. Weatherford; and parents, Paul and Lena Heavener. She was survived by her son, Jack W. Weatherford Jr., of Farmington; daughters, Judy Carnell and Jacque Justice, of Bloomfield, and Jeannie Shryock (David), of Skiatook, Okla.; sisters, Pauline (Bill) Bond, Jeanette Myler (Eldon) and Annette Hankins (Ron); grandchildren, Shan Armenta, of Aztec, Camille Sims, of Bloomfield, Scott Carnell, of Artesia, Eric and Heather Justice, of Las Cruces, Amy and Chad Ingalls, of San Antonio, Texas, and Dustin Shryock, of Salt Lake City, Utah; and 13 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 14, at Bethel Baptist Church, 201 Heiland Road in Aztec with Pastor Bob Schlauger.
