Barbara (Saavedra) Hartman was born to the late Timo and Mela Saavedra in Grants, NM on August 6, 1948. At 71 years young she was called home by our Lord and Savior on Monday, January 20, 2020. She was a devoted Wife, Mom, Daughter, Sister, Grandmother, Aunt and Friend. Barbara is survived by her husband Dave, daughters Nadine (Don) and Ann Marie Marquez, Stepdaughter Kelly (Casper) Boyer and Stepson Guy Hartman. Sisters: Rosie (Duane) Werth, Elma (Kenneth) Jaramillo, Hilda (Pat) Saavedra, Carolyn (Leroy) Perea. Grandsons: Ricky Gallegos, Dino Hartman, TK and Jake Boyer. Granddaughters: Rachael, Kaella, Emily Boyer. Nephews: Kevin (Becky) Werth, Timo (Kristin) Jaramillo, LJ (Danielle) Perea. Great Niece Reagan Werth and Great Nephew Nicholas Perea.
Barbara was a lifelong resident of Grants and retired from Grants-Cibola County Schools in 2001. She was a die-hard Pirate and Dallas Cowboy fan.
Barbara was preceded in death and is rejoicing in heaven with her Parents, Timo and Mela Saavedra. Mother-in-Law Francis Hartman. Brothers, Timoteo Saavedra and Gilbert Chavez. Numerous Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.
Services will be Thursday, January 23 with a Rosary being recited in honor of Barbara at 10:30am, followed by the Mass of the Christian burial at 11:00am at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church with Fr Alberto Avella presiding. A reception to celebrate the life of Barbara will take place at the Knights of Columbus following services.
Barbara is entrusted in the care of Cope Memorial, Gallup, NM.
