Remembering...Audrey Taylor Packer 1923-2021

Audrey Taylor Packer, 98, a lifelong area pioneer and daughter of Elmer Alfonzo Taylor and Josie Foutz Taylor, passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, August 20, 2021, surrounded by family.

Audrey was born May 25, 1923, in Farmington, NM. She attended Swinburn school and later graduated from Farmington High school in 1941. She attended BYU where she met the love of her life, Allen Hansen Packer, on a blind date. They married on Dec 20, 1944, in the Logan UT Temple and spent their honeymoon in the Hotel Utah in Salt Lake City. Her husband, Allen, passed in August 1974.

Audrey was well liked and popular throughout her life. She was a cheerleader in High School, a 2nd runner up to Mrs. NM, a card shark, and an astonishing gardener. As a young married woman, she started teaching dance to children. She opened Audrey's School of Dance and continued this career for 40 years. A large population of Farmington children will fondly remember 'Mrs. Packer'. Audrey also owned and operated Cradle N' Teens, a children's clothing store, after Allen passed away. She did this for nearly 30 years. Audrey was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout her life.

Audrey and Allen were blessed with six children: Brent (Sandy), Suzanne (Jerry), John (deceased), Steve (Renée), Anita (Tom), and Scott. She has 25 grandchildren and 61 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews who all adore her.
