Audrey F. Harris, 95 of New Braunfels, Texas and former Farmington resident passed away on Monday, August 15, 2016 in New Braunfels. Audrey was born October 4, 1920 in Pasadena, California. She attended school in California before moving to Santa Fe. Audrey was a woman with a strong work ethic and a determination to own her own restaurant business. She waitressed many years in the Santa Fe/Espanola area of New Mexico. She married Rudy Harris and they moved to Farmington. Audrey worked in various restaurants in Farmington; before finally purchasing and opening the Casa Roma Italian Food and steak restaurant, which Audrey owned for many years. She sold the Casa Roma and began to buy homes and rented to people who came to Farmington because of the oil and gas industry.
Audrey volunteered to help people who needed help with shopping, doctor appointments and friendship. She worked a number of years in the cafeteria of the Farmington School system filling many roles. Audrey loved to quilt, knit, crochet, paint and work in her garden. She was a devout catholic who attended regularly.
Audrey was preceded in death by her husband Rudy Harris, son Fred Harris, parents Samuel Rodrigues and Antonio Melendez Rodriquez; brothers Samuel Rodriquez, Jr., and Art Rodriguez.
She is survived by her sons Elgie Harris and Steve Harris, daughter Jody Willis and sister Jose Balaz.
Rosary services will be recited Sunday, August 21st at 7:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 414 N. Allen in Farmington. Mass of Christian Burial is Monday, August 22nd at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 414 N. Allen in Farmington with Father Tim Farrell as celebrant. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, 1606 N. Dustin Ave. in Farmington.
