Arthur Carroll Miller

Arthur C. Miller
June 22, 1925 - December 17, 2016

This world lost a man of strength and character when Arthur Carroll Miller (Art) left this earthly life on December 17, 2016, at home, to begin his eternal life in Heaven. We miss him with every breathe, but rejoice at the thought of the great reunion taking place this Christmas, with those we loved and lost, who have gone on before him.

Art was born in Carlsbad, NM on June 22, 1925 to Thomas Carroll (TC) and Amelia Mayes Miller, the eldest of five children. His family moved to Aztec, NM in 1938, when his father became the Superintendent at Aztec Ruins. Art attended Aztec High School, grew up and married, and started a family. He took great pride in being a Navy veteran, having lied about his age and enlisting during World War II as a gunner's mate. He later worked in the oilfield, opened his own service station, Art's Conoco Corner, managed the Cable TV system in Chama, NM, and became manager and caretaker of a large ranch in Gunnison, CO.

Art was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby White Miller, former wife Kathryn Magee Miller Israel, parents TC and Amelia Miller, brother Joe Miller, sisters Eunice Miller and Jean Miller, and grandson Dustin Miller. His is survived by a sister, Mary Miller Edwards of Springfield, Missouri, son Arthur Kent Miller (Carol) of Bloomfield, Gary Carroll Miller (Gail) of Keller, Texas, Patty Miller Townley and Cynthia Miller Taylor (Dennis) of Aztec, and Kelly White (Bobbie) of Bloomfield. In addition, he is survived by twelve grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews who remember him fondly.

Services for Arthur will be held on Wednesday, December 28, at 1:00 pm in a location to be announced. Pastor Eileen Utton, a lifelong friend, will officiate. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 6917 East Main St., in Farmington.

Funeral services are under the direction of Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home, 103 East Ute St., (505) 325-8688.
