Anthony Gabriel Martinez, 24, of Bloomfield, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2015. He was born on March 23, 1991, in Farmington, to Wilfred Martinez and Diane (Archibeque) Martinez. He graduated from Bloomfield High in 2009. His passion back then was baseball. Whether it be with the Rugrats or Muddogs, but those Sidewinders were like no other. Then those B-town Bobcats were a perfect ending. His passion became his son; the joy of his life. Anthony was employed at Kyvek Energy Services, Inc., where he made numerous friends, whom he talked about with joy. His smile was like no other. His contagious joking was the best. He loved working with his Pa-Pa on the farm. He could hang out with his brother and dad (and, of course, Gabe was always in the invite) watching NFL, UFC or soccer. They could also be found gaming it up. Anthony is going to be missed more than he could ever imagine. Please keep us all in your prayers!
He was preceded in death by his aunts Esther Martinez and Shar (Norman) Serrano; and his maternal and fraternal great grandparents.
Anthony is survived by his son, Damian Martinez; parents, Wilfred and Diane Martinez; brother, Jerome Martinez; sister, Lauren Armenta; and grandparents, Paul and Rosie Archibeque and Alfonso and Josephine Martinez.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 307 N. Church St. in Bloomfield.
A memorial Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, also at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bloomfield, with Reverend James Walker as celebrant.
Honorary Pallbearers are Gabriel Archibeque, Jeremy Archibeque, Colby Aragon, Angel Jacquez, Alfred Martinez, Felicia Martinez, the Kyvek family and all his cousins.
Anthony's care is entrusted to the Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home, 103 E. Ute St. in Farmington, 505-325-8688.
