Anthony Gilbert Carr, 71, of Aztec, passed from this life in Aztec, NM, on Monday, September 19, 2016. He was born on October 4, 1944 in Albuquerque, NM to Cecil and Juana Carr .
Anthony was a member of the Laguna Pueblo Tribe, the Roadrunner Clan and the Village of Paquate. He was employed with the City of Farmington at the Farmington Public Library from 1991-2015 when he retired. He served in the U. S. Air Force during the Vietnam Era for 8 years and was honorably discharged in 1971. He loved to read, watch movies and auto racing.
Anthony is preceded in death by his parents; Cecil and Juana Carr, his sister, Anita Carr- Hilton.
Anthony is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen Carr.
A visitation was held on Thursday, September 22, 2016 from 5-7 pm at Cope Memorial Chapel of Aztec, 405 S. Main St. in Aztec. A Graveside service will be held Saturday, September 23, 2016 at Aztec Cemetery, 700 Chamisa Ave. Father Tim Farrell will be officiating. Anthony's friends and loved ones will serve as pallbearers. VFW post 9517 of Shiprock will perform military honors. A reception will follow at VFW Post 614 in Aztec, 201 South Park Ave., Aztec. Anthony's care is entrusted to Cope Memorial Chapel of Aztec, 405 S. Main Street, Aztec, 334-9332. Those who wish to leave their condolences may do so at www. seerenityandcompany.com
