Alman "Al" Elihu Dustin

December 28, 1921 — March 11, 2016

Alman Elihu Dustin, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 11, 2016, at the age of 94 years old. Al was born Dec. 28, 1921, in Farmington, to Burney Elihu Dustin and Ruth Lorraine Spencer. Al served honorably as a military transport pilot in the Pacific Theater of World War II. Except for during his military service, he spent his entire life as a farmer, rancher, and entrepreneur in the Farmington area. Al also served as a scoutmaster for many years in his ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He not only influenced his five sons to earn the Eagle rank, but many other young men as well. He loved the Colorado Mountains, especially Hermosa Park, where he spent many summers herding cattle or camping with his family. Al was a giant of a man and yet a humble servant to many. He believed in people and would willingly give anything he had to help others. He loved his family and God and desired to qualify for the blessings of eternal life with them. In addition to his parents, Alman was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Rose Clawson (1986); and his oldest son, Gary Burney Dustin (1970). He is survived by his children, Alman Dustin (Marilyn) of Providence, Utah, Robert Dustin (Klaire) of Ignacio, CO, Rickie Dustin (Melanie) of Cedar City, UT, Connie Warner (Mike) of Centerville, UT, Rockie Dustin (Carilee) of Farmington, UT and Tammie Ash (Randy) of Durango; his 30 grandchildren and 97 great-grandchildren.
