Allis M. Evans, 83, of Farmington, passed away at her home on Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2016. She was born July 31, 1932, in San Antonio, Texas.
After moving to Farmington from Denver, she was a bookkeeper and scheduler from A and B Plumbing. In 1968, she opened up the Plaster Pad, a craft store, which she owned for many years. Allis worked at Animal Haven Clinic for several years and then worked at the post office substation in "Tinnin's" which later became "Added Touch." She was fondly known as the "post office lady" by many throughout the years. She retired as the "post office lady" at age 75. Allis enjoyed playing cards, games, puzzles, her cats and her friends.
Allis was preceded in death by her husband, H.M. "Bud" Evans in 1979, and her parents, David and Mona Schmoker.
She leaves behind her sons, Michael Evans and wife, Annemarie of Skippack, Pa. and Tom Evans and wife, Janie of Lubbock, Texas; daughters, Pam Hyder and husband, Don of Farmington and Deanna Eklund and husband, Erick of Rio Rancho; seven grandchildren, Jennifer LaFollette, Diane Miller, Megan Landis, Melissa Pavey, Nathan Evans, Dana Miller and David Miller; and many dear friends.
Cremation will take place.
A memorial services for Allis will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, at Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home in Farmington with Allis's son, Pastor Michael Evans conducting.
Allis's care is entrusted to Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home, 103 E. Ute St. in Farmington, 505-325-8688.
