Allana L (McCoy) Lowman

June 11, 1930 — December 24, 2013

Allana McCoy Lowman, 83, a long term resident of Aztec, passed into eternal life with Christ her Savior on Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2013, having lived a full and abundant life. Allana was born June 11, 1930, to Lawrence and Theda McCoy of Big Spring, Texas. Her mother preceded her in death from complications in childbirth. Allana was then cared for by her grandmother, Ellen Mott until Lawrence married, Marie McCoy, who then lovingly cared for Allana as her own.
Mrs. Lowman proudly and creatively served as a teacher at Park Ave. Elementary in Aztec, for over 30 years. As well, she taught senior adult women's Sunday School for many years at First Baptist Church in Aztec, where she was an active member. Her life verse was 1 John 4:10.
Allana was preceded in death by her husband, William A Lowman in 1966.
She was also proceeded in death by her parents; her brother, John L McCoy, and one grandson.
Together Allana and Bill had four children, all of whom survive their mother, Cinda Gifford (Fred) of Reno, Nev, Shelly Lowman, William R Lowman (Kathy), and Perry Lowman (Paula) all of Aztec. Allana is also survived by seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 27, at Cope Memorial Chapel in Aztec.
Services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 28, at the First Baptist Church, 700 Navajo St., in Aztec, with Dr. Kevin Parker officiating.
Internment will follow in Aztec Cemetery.
Pallbearers are William R. Lowman, Perry L. Lowman, Jason Lowman, Todd Lowman, Todd Markey and Nathan Holmes.
Honorary pallbearers are Fred Gifford, Jack D. Cook and John McCoy.
