Farmington resident A. Kathleen "Kay" Wilson died October 19, 2012. She was 88 years old.
Born January 25, 1924 in Dunsford, Ontario, Canada, she married Haddon Wilson in Toronto on September 7, 1946. They came to the United States in 1953. Whe Wilson's moved to Durango from New Jersey in 1971, where they owned the Silver Spur Motel and Restaurant until 1977. In 1979 they moved to Farmington and were very active in local business and community affairs.
Kathleen was a past resident of the Four Corners Federated Republican Women and a former volunteer at the Farmington Museum. They are members of the First United Methodist Church in Farmington.
She is survived by her husband, son Steve of Flora Vista and his son Tim, daughter Carol McLaughlin and husband Troy of Durango and their children Beth and Morgan, daughter Deb Wiepz and husband Greg of Edgerton, WI. and their children, Kimie, Jamie and Becky, and son Robert and his wife Lynne of Sarasota, FL.
Services will be held 2:00pm Friday, October 26, 2012 at Alternative Choice Funeral Home, 804 North Dustin, Farmington, NM 505-326-3671. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Northwest New Mexico Hospice and Home Care. Kay was entrusted to Alternative Choice Funeral and Cremation Services.
