Alice Madrid, of Farmington, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2015. She was born on June 20, 1945, in Chama, to Adelaido Madrid and Dorothy Nickerson Madrid.
Alice taught Sunday school and was a Daisies Sponsor for many years at Templo Sinai Assembly of God. Both were a passion for her. She could until the day of her death remember by name all of those she taught. Although she did not have children of her own, she helped raise many. She had such a love for children, and they loved her! Alice was a caretaker of many. She loved nothing more than to make a meal and have those she loved share that meal with her. She loved putting puzzles together and collecting Elvis memorabilia. She had many adventures quite by accident! She would call one of us and let us know what the latest adventure was usually starting with ""You'll never guess what I did"" or ""I got myself into another mess."" She was funny, kind giving and loving. The people who lived around her loved her, and it was apparent.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Adelaido Madrid and Dorothy Nickerson Madrid; brothers, Donald F. Madrid, Jimmy J. Madrid and Steven Madrid; sister, Sue Raley; and grandparents, Sixto Madrid, Senaida Madrid, Frederick J. Nickerson and Lillie Nickerson; and nephew, Pervis Raley Jr. Alice is survived by her brothers, Richard Madrid and Tommy Hinton; and sisters, Dorothy S. Lowe, Viola Moyer and Fredrica Madrid Krieg. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Robert Gallegos, Betty Gonzales, Jean Raley, Theresa Maestas, Clyde Madrid, Sandra Crespin, Matthew Madrid, Rebecca Madrid, Joseph Madrid, Vanessa Madrid, Serena Thompson, Whitney Krieg, Anthony Crespin, Nathan Crespin and Cassandra Crespin; her Princess, Eva Davids; and her Sweetie Pie, Johanna Davids; and her hito, Anthony Orlando Crespin; and many great-nieces and great-nephews who were all special to her and held a place in her heart.
A service for Alice will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 10 at Templo Sinai with officiant Jonatan Lopez.
Honorary pallbearers are Clyde Madrid, Matthew Madrid, Joseph Madrid, Anthony Crespin, Nathan Crespin, Adam Davids, Steve Montoya, Orlando Gonzales Jr., Danny DeVarges and Larry Kennedy.
