Alexia "Carol" Zwiener, 73, of Bloomfield, went home to the Lord Saturday, Oct., 28, in Farmington. She was born July 8, 1944 in Denver, Colo., to Harley and Alexia Street.
Carol attended school in Denver, Colo., and graduated from East High School, Class of 1961. She married the love of her life, Donald Zwiener, on April 4, 1970 and moved to Farmington. In 1975, Carol and Don started a farm and ranching operation in West Hammond, which she was very fond of and loved being a part of. She participated in the operation of the Hammond Irrigation Conservancy District as a secretary and bookkeeper for a period of 8 years. She was active in laying the ground work in forming the Volunteer Fire Department in Lee Acres. She was on the Board of Directors of the NM Farm and Livestock Bureau for a period of five years. She enjoyed all kinds of crafts, cooking, and family genealogy. She deeply loved family and was always willing to lend a helping hand to a person in need.
Carol was preceded in death by her daughter, Dominique Jacquez; parents, Harley and Alexia Street; grandparents, Charles and Pearl Street, and Carl and Catherine De-chant. She is survived by her husband; Donald Zwiener; sons, Frank Zwiener, Thomas Street, and Richard Street; 9 grandchildren, and 6 greatgrandchildren.
Visitation will be held 6 p.m. through 8 p.m. today, Nov. 1, at Cope Memorial Chapel of Farmington. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 2, at Cope Memorial Chapel of Farmington officiated by Aden Gingerich. Interment will follow at the Memory Gardens Cemetery, in Farmington. A reception will be held following the services at Porter's Steak House.
Pallbearers are Alex Zwiener, Adam Zwiener, Daniel Street, Alan Martinez, Mark Cadle, and Andrew Lebas.
