Al and Samantha Barela went to dance with the Lord on Saturday March 28, 2015. Al was born on June 9, 1962 in Farmington, New Mexico, the son of Raymie and Rufina Barela. Sam was born on June 15, 1977 in Lubbock, Texas, the daughter of Samuel Louis Ryan and Margaret Sumner. Al was a truck driver for several years around the Farmington area. He will always be remembered as a hardworking man who never failed to be there. Boxing was his passion along with being a judge or referee. He also grew a passion for bike riding, but most of all he loved his family and grandchildren. Al was always willing to lend a helping hand, he is loved deeply and will forever be missed. Sam was such a loving and outgoing woman who would put a smile on everyone's face. She loved to companion her husband in boxing and being a judge. Sam was a hard worker and could take anything that came her way. She loved her grandchildren, tanning and her music. She was always cooking and making sure everyone was fed (like a Mexican grandma), Sam was always willing to lend a helping hand, she is loved deeply and will forever be missed. Al was preceded in death by his parents, grandson and wife. Samantha was preceded in death by her two sisters, grandparents, her in laws, grandson and husband. Al and Sam are survived by their sons Joe Barela, Josh (Miranda) Barela, daughter Sherene (Timothy) Jaramillo and Crystal. Sam is survived by her parents Samuel Ryan and Margaret Sumner. Al and Samantha are both also survived by their brothers Raymond (Lorraine) Barela, Shannon (Tia) Adams, Michael, Jeramiah Sumner, Sisters Marlinda (Victor) Najera, Mary (Andres) Maldonado, Genevieve (Armando) Ibarra, Irene, and Erin Ryan. 10 grandchildren DeAngelo, Abriana, Christopher, Emeree, Abigaihl, Luis, Adrian, Analise, Julian, and Timothy.. Sam is also survived by her sons Ignacio Almanza, Leo J. Almanza and Francisco Almanza. AL is survived by his daughter Breana. Combined AL and Sam are survived by 23 nieces and nephews, 31 great nieces and nephews; and numerous family and friends. AL was a loving father, Papa, brother and more. Sam was a loving mother, Nana, sister and more. A viewing will be held for AL and Sam on Monday April 6, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Cope Memorial Chapel in Farmington at 404 W. Arrington. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday April 7, 2015 at Word of Life Christian Center with Pastor Ford officiating, Interment will be following immediately at Memory Gardens. Pallbearers are Raymond Barela, Raymie Barela, Danny Martinez, Jonnie Ulibarri, Matt Smith, Richard Herrera, Elena Salinas, Jerimiah Sumner, Armando Jr. Ibarra, Brandon Brown, Seth McFarland, Cynthia Acajabon. Honorary Pallbearers are Ray Barela, David Barela, Albino Barela, Victor Barela, Jimmy Barela, Omero Barela Geraldo Munoz, Shannon Adams, Michael Hensler, Erin Ryan and Tommy Armenta. Al and Samantha Barela Care is entrusted to Cope Memorial Chapel
