Adrian "Popeye" Sayler

Adrian "Popeye" Sayler, 78, of Farmington, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 24, 2015. She was born on July 8, 1937, in Underwood, N.D., to George and Rose Sayler. Adrian was in car sales. He was a VIN inspector for 35 years. He proudly served in the U.S. Army as a corporal in the Military Police. He served 10 years as a Farmington Police officer and he was a life member of the NRA. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Mary's Catholic Church. Popeye enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing and cooking. He enjoyed the company of his dearest friends Margaret Barr and Dale Halvarson. He enjoyed all the people of the four corners area that he met through sales and VIN inspections. Adrian would have liked to thank everyone for their support during this time he said, "He never met greater people in his life!"
Popeye was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Romelia Sayler; daughter, Annette Sayler; parents, George and Rose Sayler; brother, Raymond Sayler; and sister, Verna Brown. He is survived by his sons, Wesley B. Headley, Craig Headley (Karen) and Adrian J. Sayler II (Karla); daughters, Monica Burrows, Therese Reynolds (William) and Bernadette Lovato (Paul); brothers, Emerald Sayler (Geri) and Bernard Sayler (Marlys); and sisters, Bernice Thacker and Betty Jean Gasler (Norman). Popeye is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
A rosary for Adrian will be recited at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 8, 2015, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 2100 E. 20th St. in Farmington.
A funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 9, also at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Farmington, with celebrant Father Frank Chacon. Interment will be in Memory Gardens, 6917 E. Main St. in Farmington.
Pallbearers are Casey P. Lovato, Seth S. Lovato and Adrian J. Sayler III.
