Adele P. Lowe-Dee, 67, of Fruitland, passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2016. She was born Aug. 16, 1948, in Flagstaff, Ariz. to John A. and Virginia Lowe.
For 25 years, Adele worked at the San Juan County Sheriff's Department as a Records Technician-Patrol where she received acknowledgment for being the first Native American women to retire from the department. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister. She enjoyed traveling and being outdoors, whether it was to farm or to hike the trails of South Mountain in Phoenix, Ariz. She also loved to spend time with her grandchildren, teaching, and laughing with them. These are some of the things that brought her joy.
Adele was preceded in death by her parents, John A. and Virginia Lowe; sister, Shirley Lowe; and grandchild, Gavyn Belin.
She is survived by her son, Michael Dee; daughters, Paulanna (John) Zamora, Patricia (Corey) Belin, Johnna Dee, and Jerrilyn Dee; brothers, Andrew Lowe, Jerry (Dorothy) Lowe, Larry (Carmelita) Lowe, and Art (Elayne) Lowe; sisters, Sherry Ann Hancock, and Lavonne Massey; grandchildren, Jules Boyed, Dillon Belin, Lauren Belin, Cailyn Belin, and Ayden Belin.
A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, June 3 at the First Baptist Church, 17 CR 6500, in Kirtland, officiated by Pastor Brett Puckett and Deacon Michael Davidson. Burial will follow at the Kirtland-Fruitland Cemetery. A reception will be held immediately after the completion of services.
Pallbearers are Sheriff Ken Christesen, Tony Mike, Everett Howe, Alvis Kee, and two special San Juan County Sheriff's Department Employee's.
Honorary Pallbearers are Michael Dee, John Zamora, Jules Boyd, Dillon Belin, Cory Belin, Arthur Lowe, Andrew Lowe, Jerry Lowe, and Larry Lowe.
